Time to Talk

There are times when as a leader you need to have a difficult conversation. It could be that the conversation focuses on issues around performance, conduct or personal transition.

The main thing is that these conversations actually take place.

This programme will give delegates the opportunity to reflect on the different types of discussion, the difficulties that people experience when having challenging conversations and the huge benefits to both parties that can result from the discussion.

Learning objectives

By the end of the programme delegates will;

• Appreciate the different issues that lead to the need for the conversation.
• Reflect on why it is important to have the conversation and the impact of avoiding them.
• Reflect on the behaviours that make ‘difficult’ people ‘difficult’.
• Practise different techniques to approach the conversation.

Delegates will take ownership of the conversation and will develop practical skills to reach a successful outcome.
